Doug Crawford is a Digital Safety Specialist with Protect Young Eyes and an ordained pastor with over 15 years of ministry experience. With more than six years serving schools and families nationwide, Doug is driven by a desire to provide for, prepare, and protect families navigating today’s digital world. Known for his compassionate and engaging teaching style, he equips parents with practical, research-informed tools to approach technology with wisdom and confidence.
Why this matters
Parents play a critical role in shaping how children use technology—not just what they use.
As a school, we partner with families to develop students who think discernibly, act responsibly, and live with integrity. Technology and social media significantly influence how students see themselves, relate to others, and engage with the world. This parent training equips families with practical insight and guidance to navigate the digital landscape with wisdom and confidence, reinforcing our shared commitment to Christ-centered character—both online and offline.
This training supports our Portrait of a Graduate by helping families reinforce discernment, responsibility, and character in students’ digital lives.
What Parents will learn
During this training, parents and guardians will gain practical insight and tools to:
Better understand today’s social media platforms, apps, and digital trends
Recognize common digital risks and warning signs students may encounter
Set healthy, age-appropriate boundaries around technology use
Engage in meaningful, productive conversations with their children about online choices
Partner with their child to encourage wise, responsible, and Christ-centered digital habits
